A secular institute for diocesan priests
CONSECRATED TO CHRIST
We are a secular institute, which means we dedicate ourselves to Christ in the consecrated life through the profession of the evangelical counsels while continuing with our normal lives and ministries as diocesan priests. In 1947, Pope Pius XII declared secular institutes to be an official form of consecrated life in the Church. Five years later, in 1952, Rome recognized us as a secular institute of pontifical right. Our members can be found around the globe. On the local level, we meet monthly with other diocesan priests for faith sharing and a review of life. Our local communities together form the U.S. region, which in turn is connected with regions around the world by our international headquarters, which is located in Paris, France.
